Avanti's Place: About Me

Hey there! My name is Avanti & I'm a 22 year old who loves all things creative. Give me a movie or book any day and I'll be happy. My absolute favorite hobby is reading, I'm surprised I didn't choose to have a career with books. My love of books started in the womb, my parents read to me before I was even born. My passion for reading came out full force when I was in 5th grade. I read any book I could get from the school library so I could read and take my AR test on it. Reading became a hobby for me and I joined the avid readers club that year and even began teaching kindergarten & 1st graders how to read. Years later that love of reading hasn't gone anywhere. I plan to take that love and put it to good use. One day I hope to start an organization that helps in the fight against teen & childhood illiteracy. I think it's terrible that they can't experience the magic of books the way I did (and still do). I read so much that books became my best friends. I pretty much read anything with an interesting story line, but now my favorite category is young adult books. They have a lot of adventure & teen romance in them. The kind of thing a girl needs to escape the world. I have a bad habit of getting free kindle books almost everyday. It's safe to say that I'll never read all the books I want to in my lifetime, but at least I'll never run out!
